Breaking News! You Don’t Have To Feel Sluggish and Tired All The Time – Put An End To Your Snoring {By: Tom Allen}
Although the topic of snoring is frequently met with laughs. It is really no laughing matter, especially to the bedmate of the snorer. As a matter of fact, snoring can acutally be a sign of a much more serious health problem known as sleep apnea. All snoring of course, is not the same. Not all who snore suffer from sleep apnea. There are different types of snoring.
In order to rule out sleep apnea, you may want to consult with your physician. He or she will probably ask if you’ve already tried some lifestyle changes like losing weight and quitting or reducing smoking and alcohol consumption in addition to changing your sleeping position. If those actions don’t produce results, you’ll want to rule out sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea is a condition in which you literally stop breathing several times throughout the night while sleeping. In some cases, the duration of an interruption is over a minute and the interruptions can occur as many as hundreds of times during any given night.
This condition can be fatal, so its important that you confer with your physician if you suspect that your snoring is more than a modest annoyance. You should also feel that your sleep is far less productive and feel tired throughout the day if you suffer from sleep apnea.
Chances are that your physician will want to try the less invasive methods before resorting to surgical procedures that may or may not be necessary in order to properly treat your case of sleep apnea. The good news is that there are many treatments available that do not include surgery.
The first step your doctor is likely to take is to identify the specific apnea that plagues your sleep. There are three different types of sleep apnea: obstructive, central, and mixed. Obstructive is the one you will hear the most about, since its the most common one.
Behavioral changes such as diet and exercise, medications such as nasal sprays with steroids, thyroid replacement therapy medications, and weigh loss medications, dental appliances and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines, which are devices that deliver constant air pressure through a facemask in order to keep the airways open are all common treatments for obstructive sleep apnea. Your doctor and you will work out a treatment plan once your particular apnea is discovered, that will correct or minimize your apnea.
While these devices and treatment options are not one size fits all, they can be highly effective when used either alone or in conjunction with other treatment options. Physical fitness tends to be a big problem for those with sleep apnea.
The cycle is brutal with the result of the apnea being a lack of energy that would be needed in order to burn off the required calories to achieve weight loss. Talk to your physician if youre overweight and suffering from sleep apnea. He or she may be able to prescribe medication for weight loss that will assist with both. The worst thing you can do for sleep apnea is to do nothing.

If the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous dim puff of star dust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way. Properly the Jew ought hardly to be heard of, but he is heard of, has always been heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the world's list of great names in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and abstruse learning are also away out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers.
